[External] Report | Manual for Developing Nature-Based Carbon Projects in Eastern Africa

This manual was launched in at the Africa Climate Summit 2 in Ethiopia, in September 2025, during a joint session organised by the Eastern Africa Alliance on Carbon Markets and Climate Finance and the West African Alliance, with support from the International Climate Initiative, VCMI, Climate Focus and the German Government through Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

This manual was developed by Climate Focus, and the Eastern Africa Alliance on Carbon Markets and Climate Finance (EAA), with the support of the Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative (VCMI). The manual aims to provide practical guidance for the development of high-integrity Nature-based Solutions (NbS) carbon projects.
