Objectifs
| Sierra Leone remains committed to reducing GHG emissions as per its NDC 3.0, with a more ambitious targets consistent with the national goal of reaching net-zero emissions in alignment with the Agenda 2063 of the African Union. It commits to reducing its GHG emissions by 36.2% below business-as-usual emissions by 2035. This translates to overall GHG emissions reduction of 19,987 Gg CO2e. It will reduce GHG emissions from the waste sector by 52.5% below BAU levels by 2035; Reduce GHG emissions from the transport sector by 16.2% below BAU levels by 2035; Reduce GHG emissions from the energy sector by 41.6% below BAU levels by 2035; Reduce GHG emissions from the AFOLU sector by 33.6% below BAU levels by 2035 |

L'énergie
- Install 50 MW mini grid in rural areas to reduce emissions by 41.62 GgCO₂e.
- Install 50W Solar PV across schools, hospital and manufacturing facilities to reduce emissions by 15 GgCO₂e annually.
- Supply improved cookstoves to 90% of HHs (900,000 HHs) and 12,000 institutional stoves by 2035 to reduce emissions by 488.6 GgCO₂.
- Reduce emissions by 50.8 GgCO₂ per year by supplying LPG cookstoves to 60,000 HHs by 2035.
- Reduce emissions by 1750 GgCO₂e per year by supplying biogas cookstoves to 90,000 HHs.
- Reduce emissions by 0.63 GgCO₂e per year by installing SHS in 5000 HHs in rural areas.
AFOLU
- Reduce emissions by 18204 GgCO₂e per year by improving management of 200,000 ha forests; 100,000 ha mangroves, and 200,000 restored forests by 2035.
- Reduce emissions by 910 GgCO₂e avoided per year by 60,000 ha not burnt during farming.
Déchets
- Reduce emissions by 135 Gg CO2e per year by supporting the implementation of a landfill gas recovery system by 2035.
- Reduce emissions by 300 Gg CO2e per year by supporting Waste Organic Diversion by 2035.
Transport
- Reduce141.5 GgCO₂ per year by introducing 10,000 electric kekehs by 2035.
- Reduction of 214 GgCO₂ per year by the introduction of 100 electric buses by 2035.
- Reduction of 179 GgCO₂ per year by improving the efficiency of the vehicle fleet by 2035.

The NDC 3.0 covers Waste, Transport, Energy, AFOLU, and others (blue economy).
Besoins de financement
The total estimated investment required over the implementation period 2025-2035 per te NDC 3.0 is USD 2.974 billion. Out of this, USD 1.024 billion (34.4%) will be required for mitigation, USD 1.95 billion (65.6%) will support adaptation. In view of the mitigation investment, Sierra Leone will mobilize USD 205 million to meet its unconditional NDC needs and the remaining USD 819 million from international funding.
